Account Manager

OBJECTIVE

The Account Manager is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of assigned and self-generated accounts from the design stage through completion, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction, while maximizing profit margins and volume.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

The Account Manager reports to the Director.

There are no positions reporting to this position.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Achieve Annual Quotas and Implement an Effective Business Plan
2. Manage the Sales Process and Own the Client Relationship
3. Participate in Planning, Programming, Selection, Budgets and Proposals
4. Provide Project Management Support Through Closeout of the Project
5. Assure Customer Satisfaction, Maintain and Develop New Relationships
6. Be available to meet clients’ needs when required, including outside normal business hours.
7. Be responsible for responding to or meeting clients’ requirements within a 24 hour response time.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Achieve Annual Quotas and Implement an Effective Business Plan
a. Achieve annual sales volume and GP dollar quotas and goals
b. Develop and implement an annual ‘Business Plan’ that includes sales and marketing strategies, tactics, quotas, goals and activities to achieve desired performance results to maximize volume in accounts
c. Maintain and update Business Plan, forecasts and other requested reports

2. Manage the Sales Process and Own the Client Relationships
a. Implement strategies to qualify and secure business within assigned and self-generated accounts
b. Own the client relationships and manage client expectations
c. Collaborate with our team members for optimum results
d. Provide support to BDM as required on projects you are assigned to
e. Engage Designers and Project Managers as required
f. Support the A&D firm and other industry influencers as required
g. Demonstrate an on-going knowledge and professional expertise in the Contract Furniture Industry, well versed in Dealer Services, Knoll, ancillary furniture, other product solutions and Design Concepts. Attend product and sales training and meetings
h. Oversee and drive the activities involved in the Order Fulfillment Process
i. Perform other duties as assigned

3. Participate in Planning, Programming, Selection, Budgets and Proposals
a. Assist in gathering programming information, planning and generation of project timeline with our team
b. Participate in product evaluations, demo’s, presentations and tours
c. Interface with vendors for product and pricing information
d. Generate budgets, develop pricing structures and discounts with input as required from management and/or BDM (if they are involved)
e. Participate in accurate and complete bid and proposal responses
f. Submit bids/proposals and other documents in a timely fashion to clients
g. Obtain sign-offs, deposits and applicable client purchase orders

4. Provide Project Management Support Through Closeout of the Project
a. Provide Project Management coordination as appropriate for each account
b. Interface and communicate with client, PM’s, Design, (BDM if applicable) contractor, trades and install company
c. Attend pre-install, construction and project meetings
d. Keep team updated on status, timeline and required action steps
e. Ensure that site-visits are conducted to verify: field measurements, critical dimensions, voice/data/electrical locations and if the space is ready
f. Own and oversee the coordination, progress and completion of the installation and punchlist
g. Provide prompt and courteous follow-up of delinquent accounts as directed

5. Assure Customer Satisfaction, Maintain and Develop New Relationships
a. Assure a thorough orientation of the product and complete closeout of the job to the satisfaction of the customer
b. Assist our team and customer with resolution of any ongoing major service or performance issues
c. Maintain current relationships, keep customers educated on new products and dealer services, help determine future needs and budgets
d. Penetrate the account; pursue and develop new relationships with key contacts, other divisions or departments to uncover and pursue potential new business opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Successful account management/project management experience of 3 to 5 years, or comparable related experience and education
• Has interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and our internal personnel: team player
• Demonstrates commitment to professionalism, integrity and sound judgment in conducting business transactions and providing the highest level of client satisfaction
• High level of empathy for the customer
• Superior organizational skills to simultaneously monitor multiple complex projects
• Availability for evening and weekend work when needed
• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and Windows environment, including CRM
• Clean DMV that passes our insurance requirements and current auto insurance
• Understands our standing in the community and abides by our strong core values and beliefs
