Position Description:

This position could be located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania or Newark, DE.

Responsibilities include:

Direct project technical resources to insure compliance with project plan and schedule.
Perform product design, development, and testing.
Develop product development proposals.
Evaluate design quality and reliability.
Prepare and review product-related documentation.
Prepare and review test and manufacturing procedures.
Coordinate with agencies for third party approvals (EMC, LVD, HAZLOC)
Work with other colleagues to ensure product designs are compliant with all applicable standards
Communicate with internal departments, customers, and vendors in matters related to product design and development.
Perform additional duties as required.

 

Position Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering plus minimum five years of work experience developing products for use in an industrial environment.

 

Knowledge and/or experience in several of the following skill areas:

The design, operation and debugging of digital electronic circuits.

The design, operation and debugging of analog electronic circuits.

The design, operation and debugging of microprocessors and microcontrollers.

The design, operation and debugging of assembly language software.

The design, operation and debugging of software in a high-level language, preferably C.

Personal Computers and related application software such as word processors, spreadsheets, and communications program.

Product verification and validation testing.

Product safety and compliance standards.  Specifically North American, IEC, and ATEX standards for use of electrical equipment in Hazardous Areas

Writing and oral communication skills as to participate in design reviews, technical presentations, technical procedure development, and other aspects of product design documentation and training.

Product manufacturing and packaging principles related to product design and development.

Operation, verification, and qualification of sensor technologies.

RFI, EMI, ESD, and transient phenomena.

Printed circuit board design, layout, and manufacturing principles.

Software development methodologies and tools.
