Sales Representative

One of the oldest, and fastest growing contract furniture companies is looking for a sales representative for the San Jose area.

Job Responsibilities

This position is accountable for the development of new business and the achievement of quarterly and annual sales goals for volume and margin, while assuring a high level of customer satisfaction and positive client relationships.

Organization Structure:

The Sales Consultant reports to the VP of Sales of SF General Manager.

Major Functions:

  • Grows and maintains annual revenues of volume and gross profit
  • Owns client relationships and manages client expectations
  • Develops and monitors budgets and proposed client solutions
  • Collaborates with team members for optimum results
  • Develops and maintains primary vendor relationships
  • Supports A & D and other project influencers as required
  • Demonstrates on-going knowledge and professional expertise in the contract furniture industry
  • Responsible for overall customer satisfaction

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements market plan for assigned territory
  • Develops A & D and commercial real estate contacts
  • Identifies prospects and provides prompt and effective follow-up of assigned leads and self generated opportunities
  • Created and maintains strong relationships with clients, prospects and referral sources, to increase client satisfaction and generate repeat referral business
    maintains current knowledge of the contract furniture industry and related products,, applications and design concepts
  • Oversees support personnel within the team structure to plan and specify all aspects of sales projects and develop accurate price quotations.
  • Provides timely follow-up for client response and monitors budgets and details to assure complete, accurate solutions.
  • Cross-sells design, installation, project management and other services.
  • Conducts presentations, demonstrations and tours as required at various points in the sales cycle. Assures a thorough orientation to the product and design elements both before and after the sale.
  • Provides prompt and courteous follow-up of delinquent accounts as directed
  • Attends project meetings, team meetings, and sales meetings as required.
  • Interacts with sales support, design, operations, and administrative personnel as needed
  • Generated leads and closes business
  • Is accessible by cell phone at all times to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Salary Commensurate with Experience.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 2 – 5 years successful contract furniture sales experience
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and co. internal personnel: Team player
  • Demonstrates commitment to professionalism, integrity and sound judgment in conducting business transactions and providing the highest level of client satisfaction.
  • Organizational skills to simultaneously monitor multiple complex projects
  • Active in the community; regular contact with clients, potential clients, and professionals in the design community, real estate developers and general contractors.
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and Windows environment
  • Understand company standing in the community and abides by our strong core values and beliefs.
