Senior EH&S Manager

This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Candidate will continue to improve and manage aspects of safety, occupational health, environmental compliance, emergency management and incident response. In addition, assures that the company complies with applicable federal and state environmental, health, and safety laws, regulations, and standards.

  • BS or MS in EHS, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health or equivalent
  • Certification in: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • At least 7 years of experience in EHS industry
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other pertinent regulations is needed as well as conducting specific safety training courses and responding to hazardous materials handling operations and chemical spill/release incidents
  • Strong ability to interact effectively with employees, managers, regulatory agencies, public officials, Etc.
  • Engineering or technical background a plus
  • Oversee waste-water treatment facility staff and ensure compliance with all permits and filings
  • Develop relationships with local regulators and ensure facility continues to maintain strong relationships with those local bodies

Skill in:

  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated implementation
  • Change management experience to include training and development programs in a high-
  • performance, fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Experienced in conflict resolution
  • Prioritizes work based on short and long term objectives
  • Successfully analyzes and presents data to multiple levels of the organization

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Successfully multi-task
  • Ensure collaborative relationships with industry, trade, other associations, regulatory agencies and Hearthside staff.
  • Lead ‘best in class’ behaviors with focus on safety, quality, and policy focus
