Senior Site Quality Manager

Our client is committed to operational excellence and world class processes and is seeking a Sr. Site Quality Manager.
who will be responsible for establishing the continuous improvement strategy to support the organization’s manufacturing quality and cost reduction goals. In addition, this position will ensure that the plant meets both internal and external customer expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leverages the efforts of the quality and manufacturing teams via a systematic and “just-in-time” introduction of process improvement tools to reduce variation in operation. The incumbent will be a recognized expert for Structured Problem Solving, 5S, Mistake-Proofing and process capability tools required to drive the continuous improvement culture into the organization.
  • Develop a strong team of quality engineers and process improvers to sustain customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for planning, leading, educating and assisting the site staff in the execution of the established continuous improvement strategy through recommendation and strategic implementation of metrics, tools and training.
  • Instills a disciplined approach to seek out and eliminate quality problems at all levels of the organization
  • Defines a roadmap of continuous improvement for the organization by establishing priorities, methods and strategies for implementation using data to both guide the process as well as monitor the result.
  • Analyzes failures, determines cause, determines responsibility, and initiates corrective action.
  • Reviews test procedures (functional, acceptance/qualification) for completeness with regard to technical content, test equipment and test data; provide assistance to inspection test stations.
  • Participates in program and design reviews.
  • Acts as quality interface for all customers.
  • Maintain metrics on quality system performance utilizing data mining of support systems and perform internal system audits to AS9100.

  • B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field. M.S. degree preferred
  • 10+ years experience in demonstrated process improvement success; proven accomplishments utilizing OpEx and Lean tools/methodologies; Certified Champion in the following OpEx tools (or plan to complete training for required certification within twelve-month period of entering position): Structured Problem Solving, 5S, Mistake-Proofing and process capability tools required to drive the continuous improvement culture into the organization.
  • 7+ years experience as a Quality Manager in an Aerospace environment or in a similar manufacturing situation.
  • Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Manager a plus.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming; practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models; characteristics of metals, chemical processes, electricity and other elements.
  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS SUITE, Outlook, and statistical software (i.e. Minitab or equivalent);
  • Troubleshooting experience.
