Sr. CAD Designer / Space Planner

Summary

  • Provides support to Sales Representatives, Account Managers and clients by managing all aspects of design process.
  • Works as a team player to ensure high quality service and design for the client.
  • Supports sales team in securing new business, and maintaining excellent working relationships with existing clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates as needed in programming process to evaluate client needs and determine scope of services required by client.
  • Performs services as indicated in Design Request Form (i.e. building shell, preliminary space plan, elevations, pricing, color boards, etc).
  • Meets with vendor reps and manufacturers to request samples and other product information as needed.
  • Produces accurate, on time specifications and cost estimates using current specifying software programs (CAP). Transfers data along with other relevant information, paperwork and special instructions to the sales team for proposal generation.
  • Reviews all drawings, samples and related information with the sales team prior to client meetings. Makes changes in the material if necessary.
  • Finalizes and generates copies of all necessary drawing required for installation (i.e. furniture plan, electrical, lighting plan, finish plan, elevations, etc.).
  • Organizes drawings to ensure the are current and reference ready at all times.
  • Coordinates installation with Installation Manager or Project Manager as needed.
  • Participates in post-occupancy evaluation and punch list process.
  • Assists in maintaining an organized and current job folder.
  • Maintains up to date and accurate design hours records for projects as requested.
  • Stays current on commercial furniture, design trends, products and methods by attending vendor presentations and studying industry periodicals.
  • Prepares annual overview of personal performance including design work and goal achievement.

Excellent Salary and Benefits

  • Minimum Associates Degree in interior design, architecture and or equivalent education or experience. Four year degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience with architectural drafting (in AutoCAD) and commercial interior design required.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to write and effectively present information to management in client organizations, public groups and other entities.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
