Water Operations Supervisor – Northern NJ

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing ½ water treatment and distribution system in Northern NJ, in addition to providing oversight of the Collection System, on an as-needed basis. Must be able to effectively communicate will all levels of the organization to ensure consistency and compliance with contract deliverables. The Operations Manager acts as the primary liaison with internal, external, stakeholders for the plant, including client contracts, community leaders, end users, regulatory contacts, plant employees, company contacts and senior leadership.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervises contractors and company employees as needed.
  • Maintains a positive client relationship and compliance with the contract and state regulations.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately with the community with regards to work being done in their neighborhoods.
  • Responsible for reports to NJDEP, the client, financials and budgets.
  • Operation and adjustment of water plant equipment and processes.
  • Performing specific tasks such as hydrant flushing and valve exercising as required.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, the client, and public.
  • Performs sample collection and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical or biological characteristics of water required in accordance with local, state and federal clean water requirements.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor of Science or related field or relevant experience preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in water/wastewater environment including general sampling and analysis techniques.
  • Working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures and regulations used in water treatment plant operation activities.
  • Must have the New Jersey T4, W2 licenses.
  • Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) SCADA and CMMS programs.
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills.
  • Understand Financial and Budgetary Reporting.
