Commercial Construction Estimator

We are a General Contractor currently seeking experienced, seasoned Commercial Construction Estimator/Project Manager with a minimum of 10-15+ years in the industry.

Job Duties & Responsibilities listed below are REQUIRED and MUST be performed with accuracy and timeliness

• Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret constructions blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Experience in preparing and writing cost estimates; change order estimates and negotiate cost proposals.
• Establish budgets and project schedules.
• Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.
• Reviews construction documents, understands and prepares detailed scopes of work to bid.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
• Subcontractor Management
• Actively build subcontractor/supplier database and relationships to ensure the best pricing.
• Negotiate, award and write subcontracts and material purchase orders.
• Monitor and control all change orders, RFI’s and submittals.
• Monitor Superintendents adherence to project schedule and safety requirements.
• Must possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all of MS Office products, Scheduling, and Estimating software. Required experience & knowledge in Primavera Suretrak.
• Clear understanding of contract requirements.
• Publicworks/Government project experience.
• Capable of performing value engineering.
• Ability to project manage and work with onsite superintendents developing schedules, submittals, ordering materials and coordinating sub-contractors.
• Participates actively to develop efforts to identify and track client and new project pursuits.
• Ability to work in a team environment and fit in with company culture and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills working with clients, architects and subcontractors.
• Must possess a strong work ethic and values that are above-reproach.
• Personable, professional with leadership and problem solving abilities.
• High level of enthusiasm, organizational and effective professional oral and written communicative skills.
• Ability to professionally operate in a fast-paced environment maintained by a company in a positive, controlled growth mode.
• Ability to work the hours required to support the role of Estimator/Project Manager.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
• Field experience recommended.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of field management experience in the commercial construction industry
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on-site project teams to successful completions
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Excellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
