Civil Estimator – CA

Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties
may be required and assigned.

●● Provide estimates with a focus on civil construction
●● Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site work
evaluations
●● Identify labor, material and time requirements
required to perform work
●● Quantify takeoffs and complete estimate
preparation
●● Subcontractor, supplier and client interactions
●● Preparation of Request for Quotations and analysis
of subcontract and material proposals

●● Ability to multi-task and handle tight deadlines
●● Ability to estimate entire project or as part of
estimating team depending on size and scope of
project
●● Ability to perform, if necessary, as project manager
on projects ranging between $1 – 15 million
●● Experience with CM/GC delivery process –
developing GMP and proposal development

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required to Perform Essential Functions:
Technical Knowledge:
Ability to perform a variety of duties that may often change and work within standards of accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry
materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Climb up and down ladder, scaffolds and other objects. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and/
or crawl. Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with
construction job sites.

Training and Experience:
●● Degree in Construction Engineering Management,
Civil Engineering or other related engineering
degree
●● Minimum 10 years heavy civil construction
experience
●● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

●● Excellent computer skills, proficient in Hard Dollar,
Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project
●● Primavera and AutoCad skills a plus
●● Valid driver’s license
●● Team player, able to get along with a diverse group
of people working towards a common goal
