Civil Design Engineer – Savannah, GA

One of the fastest growing engineering companies in Savannah, is seeking Designers for its Savannah, GA office. Client provides professional consulting services for land development projects specializing in site and municipal engineering design and surveying for light industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential uses.

Successful candidates will have an interest in preparing plans and specifications, design considerations and reports and permit applications for various types of Civil Engineering projects. Practical experience (beyond academic applications) using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is strongly desired.

Typical Responsibilities & Duties:

• Ability to support the Project Managers and other team members as necessary to produce the project.
• Under the direction and supervision of other Engineers be able to prepare Paving,Grading, Drainage and Utility plans for land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with applications for all necessary regulatory permits.
• Assist with the prepare calculations and reports relating to project submittals.
• Help the team manage project schedules to achieve project milestones and deliverable work product.
• Provide assistance with project bidding and construction administration phases.
• Assist with the resolution of construction issues and conduct site observations.
• Work cooperatively on project teams.
• Ability to independently solve problems

Requirements:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field
• Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification preferred.
• Previous design experience on a project team or work in a related internship is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCad and Civil 3D
• Ability to understand and follow directions is a necessity.
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Ability to communicate with project managers, clients and review agencies.
• Must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated. Ability to multi-task and mange time and workload.
• Must posses high individual moral and ethical character.
