Design Director

We are seeking an Interior Design Director for our San Jose Studio in our Northwest Region. The Interior Design Director will have had experience in leading design efforts for commercial office environments.

Responsibilities of the Interior Designer will include:

• Lead design efforts through all phases of commercial interior projects including guiding, advising, and mentoring other designers on projects, developing design directions and leading design critiques/forums.
• Act as primary design interface with clients.
• Selection of interior finishes, furniture and equipment.
• Produce space plans, furniture plans, elevations, conceptual and finished design presentation documentation.
• Provide solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives.
• Review drawings, mock ups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors.
• Deliver the highest quality of professional service.

Requirements:

• 10+ years experience in the design of commercial interior projects.
• Must have a degree in interior design from an accredited program.
• Must have experience in leading design efforts for commercial office environments.
• The ideal candidate will have proven skills in establishing/developing design schemes and leading/coordinating design teams for interior architectural projects.
• Proficient in all aspects of interior design.
• Must have significant knowledge of commercial furniture and finishes.
• Must have strong, effective organization, communication and presentation skills.
• Must have strong leadership skills and extensive experience leading design teams on multiple projects.
• Knowledge of applicable building code and ADA code compliance regulations.
• Should be proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, 3D Studio, sketch up and free hand sketches.
