SOLAR ENERGY PROJECT ENGINEER

Project Engineer- Solar Energy

SUMMARY

This individual will be responsible for managing the design and permitting of large-scale solar electric systems which includes performing site qualification visits, developing electrical and structural system designs, developing design drawing sets, overseeing the permitting submission and procurement process and supporting the submission of interconnection applications, and pre-sales support.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Visit sites as needed to collect information required to complete the project.
• Develop structural and electrical designs for large-scale solar electric systems to meet all national, state and local code requirements and customer requirements.
• Obtain the necessary permits to allow for construction of large-scale solar electric systems.
• Provide technical support as needed.
• Provide support during the inspection of system. installations in order to obtain final inspection approval.
• Mentor junior staff members as needed.

Requirements

BSEE degree

• 3+ years experience design experience with a solar electric installation company
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2007 software.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office programs, specifically Word and Excel.
• Must be able to travel to sites occasionally to provide design support during system permitting, construction and inspection.
• Professional Electrical Engineering license highly desirable.
• Experience working in the construction industry would be a valuable asset for this position.
