Construction Plumbing Designer

The Plumbing Designer is responsible for designing detailed drawings of plumbing systems as well as communicate any design issues/problems to the project manager and to the client representatives as needed via meetings, email, etc.

Key Duties:

• Design and layout engineering drawings within plumbing codes to meet design schedules and within budget.
• Design Plumbing systems with calculations including sanitary waste, vent, storm, gas systems, and domestic water distribution systems.
• Design, select, schedule, size and specify Plumbing system components to include plumbing fixtures, drains, and equipment based on CA plumbing codes.
• Provide encouragement and feedback when necessary overseeing others to work together effectively.
• Provide a leadership role for CAD Technicians by answering questions, assigning work, and checking for accuracy.
• Assist in field work assignments while applying state, local, and model codes as related to buildings and Plumbing design.
• Develop and maintain Plumbing project work plans and monitor own project progress.

Qualifications:

•  Minimum five years of experience using Auto CAD to design plumbing systems for multiple family residential buildings.
• Self-motivated with exceptional organizational and communication skills both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of Unified Plumbing Code, California Plumbing Code, uniform building codes, and ASPE standards. Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus.
