Multi Family Sr. Superintendent – Dallas, TX

  1. Primary Function

The Superintendent oversees the construction of multiple projects. He/she will coordinate with other superintendents to ensure other job sites are being manned properly and workmanship is consistent.

Superintendent is responsible for assisting other Project Managers and especially the Director of Construction.  He/she should fluctuate between jobs and provide expertise to solve construction related issues.

  1. Typical Duties and Responsibilities            
  • Supervises total construction efforts to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with owner, subcontractors, and other contractors.
  • Plans, coordinates and supervises onsite functions such as scheduling, engineering, and material control.
  • Supervises craft employees and/or subcontractors.
  • Provides technical assistance to project personnel.
  • Interprets drawings.
  • Recommends construction methods and equipment.
  • Assists project management in ensuring that project procedures are consistent with corporate philosophy.
  • Ensures that all onsite personnel comply with policies, procedures, safety program requirements, and other work guidelines. Documents all violations, notifies project management, and recommends/implements corrective actions as required.
  • Assumes responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
  • Works closely with the Director of Construction overseeing construction related issues.
  • Ultimately responsible to identify which jobs are not manned properly and assigns the Company’s skilled labor to shore up any gaps.
  • Rotates every job site to ensure safety protocols are being met and followed.
  • Acts as a Quality Control supervisor, visiting job sites to ensure consistency and excellence between them.

Ill.        Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of ten years work experience in construction management, of which at least seven years as a superintendent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.

lV.        Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to express ideas clearly and objectively, orally and in writing.
  • OSHA30 Hour training certification
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise personnel.
  • Ability perform according to agreed plans with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge in MS Office, ProCore, AutoCAD and Microsoft Project 2016 preferred.
