Accountant / Tax Preparer

A full-service CPA firm in North County San Diego is seeking to add an Accountant to its practice. The firm has grown due to the quality of services that we offer. The tax practice has a cross section of individual and business clients. It is an exciting and fast-paced work environment with opportunity for advancement. This is a woman-owned firm. This full-time, permanent, position is an excellent opportunity for someone who is entrepreneurial with professional skills, sound business sense, and problem solving ability.

Compensation will be commensurate with the individual’s qualifications.

• A degree in Accounting or equivalent in education and experience;
• Experience preparing taxes for businesses and individuals for both the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and California Franchise Tax Board (FTB);
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based income tax software such as LaCerte, ProSystems, TaxWare (please clearly state which you know well) ;
• Must be flexible – working both independently and as a member of a team.

Preferred:

• Recent experience in public accounting
• Familiarity with Lacerte, TimeSlips, QuickBooks and other accounting software.

The successful candidate will be:

• Highly detail oriented, accurate and organized – having a sense of urgency, as well as good time management and follow-through skills
• Able to demonstrate competency in technical skills, a working knowledge of accounting principles
• Able to apply professional and firm standards
• Interested in learning about tax law
