DESIGN DIRECTOR

Design Director

Candidate will provide strong leadership and a strategic business approach to the design function. Manage workflow and process for multi-market companies. Grow a profitable business unit within the Company.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Build an efficient and profitable Design profit center.
• Develop, implement and maintain an efficient design process and structure.
• Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to company designers.
• Evaluate and diagnose strengths and inefficiencies in the process and structure.
• Determine the strength and fit of individuals comprising the Design Team.
• Create a vision and strategy of how the Design department will become a profitable business unit.
• Sell the design vision to Leadership, key stakeholders and the organization at large.
• Implement and maintain the Design structure and process.
• Assist Account Managers in negotiating billable services.
• Ensure the Design Team is performing at agreed to level.

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or certificate in Interior Design or related field preferred.
• Director level experience for a multi-market organization
• Strong workflow and process management
• Proven problem solver
• Proficiency in management and motivation of teams
• Knowledge of office furniture systems
• Strong written and oral communications
• Strong mathematical skills, with basic algebra and geometry skills
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business contracts, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and contracts.
• Proficiency in MS Windows, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, and Outlook
• Proficiency in AutoCAD a plus
• Dealership design background is a plus
