Dr. Of Project Management – Contract Furniture

The Director of Project Management is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the Project Management department. They are responsible for maintaining procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of the Project Managers including managing resource allocation for all office locations.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Carry out and attain the mission and goals of the FPM department; established in conjunction with the VP of Operations
  • Develop and maintain a superior team with an emphasis on customer service
  • Develop a team culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance
  • Encourage personal on-going development
  • Plan staffing resources and team alignments for optimum sales support
  • Provide oversight and direction to the team
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and career development planning
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among and across all departments
  • Lead team to meet the organizations expectations for productivity, quality and customer service, both internally and externally
  • Maintain teams project schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacation coverage
  • Maintain transparent communication by providing a feedback loop between employees to leadership
  • Plan and implement tools/controls to assist in departmental productivity and outstanding customer/project experiences
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of FPM processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output
  • Assist in maintaining superior relationships with third party installation partners
  • Request labor quotes as needed
  • Visit project installations to represent our brand and ensure quality performance from our installation partners
  • Monitor all billable time, accuracy of time entry and error reporting
  • Participate in project installation planning as needed for RFP’s, complex projects
  • Assist team and customer with resolution of any ongoing service or performance issues
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Successful management/project management experience of 3-5 years in the furniture industry, or comparable related experience
  • Possess leadership skills
  • Demonstrate commitment to professionalism, integrity and sound judgment in conducting business transactions and providing the highest level of client satisfaction
  • Encompasses a high level of empathy for the customer
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills to simultaneously monitor multiple complex projects
  • Effective time management/prioritization skills (must be able to execute multiple projects, simultaneously)
  • Availability for evening and weekend work when/if needed
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn new software as required
  • Possess excellent written + verbal communication skills
  • Encompass the spirit of teamwork + collaboration
  • Have a passion for furniture + management
  • Driven, problem solver is a plus
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle or transportation
  • Some travel within the US may be required
