Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual interested in leading conceptual estimating efforts to produce accurate electrical construction cost budgets and estimates, offering expertise and raising concerns and considerations to improve installation and performance of facility systems, and supporting our project planning goals and initiatives by applying expertise in estimating and cost management.

Using judgment regarding market conditions, trace contractor capabilities and risk management measures, candidate will be responsible for

  • Preparing cost models for early design concepts, requiring the ability to derive meaningful cost data from historical cost data, relevant benchmarked projects and assumptions and project specific factors.
  • Demonstrating an interest in and ability to develop expertise and leadership in the following specialty project planning services: value analysis, life cycle costing, constructability analysis, alternatives analysis, LEED, regional market cost factoring, work scope definition and integration of construction scheduling factors into the cost of the work.
  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering multiple projects, developing innovative ways of applying preconstruction specialty services to address client needs, and proposing and implementing ideas for continuous improvement of project planning services.

Excellent salary based on experience.

Job Qualifications for Successful Estimator

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or Estimating, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Experience with HCSS and/or Timberline Estimating Systems.
  • Experience with Primavera Scheduling.
  • Miscellaneous Metal and Structural Steel Experience.
  • Must have all trades take-off experience.
  • Project $ Value experience should be in the $2M – $30M range
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing required.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced team environment and committed to working as a team is critical.
