Job Summary

Plan, coordinate, and prepare construction cost estimates primarily for water and wastewater treatment or other hard bid construction projects. Plan and coordinate conceptual estimates in a design – build environment.

Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

Job Qualifications for Successful Estimator

  • 5-10 years experience estimating water and wastewater plants for the following self-performed trades:
    1. Process piping welded and flanged
    2. Process equipment installation
  • 5-10 years experience in Heavy Industrial for the following self-performed trades:
    1. Process piping welded and flanged
    2. Equipment installation
    3. Rigging
  • 5-10 years experience in self – performed cast in place concrete for water, wastewater plants and heavy industrial. Ability to estimate the architectural disciplines is a plus.
  • 5-10 years experience in self – performed in site work, structural excavation and yard piping.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or Estimating, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Experience with HCSS and/or Timberline Estimating Systems.
  • Experience with Primavera Scheduling.
  • Miscellaneous Metal and Structural Steel Experience.
  • Must have all trades take-off experience.
  • Project $ Value experience should be in the $2M – $30M range
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing required.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced team environment and committed to working as a team is critical.
