Excavation Superintendent – Chicago, IL

Client is currently hiring for an Excavation Superintendent to add to our team.
The Excavation Superintendent directs activities of union and non‐union workers engaged with
construction of highways, runways, site development infrastructure or other heavy highway
construction projects with an emphasis on moving/hauling dirt.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


Plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing
requirements for each phase of construction


Schedules crews and orders equipment, tools and materials to be delivered at specified
times to conform to work schedules


Schedules all subcontractor work on daily basis and for the week and communicates
daily with the project manager


Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work
schedules on the basis of this review and communicates adjustments to the project
manager. Ensures all work progresses at a pace that maintains the schedule and owner
milestones


Accumulates and accurately enters time and quantities on a daily basis with the
assistance of the project engineer


Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and
the adherence to construction schedules


Additional Responsibilities:
Five or more years of excavation and leadership experience required


Accumulate and submit all project daily trucking logs and material summary tickets on a
daily basis


Order JULIE dig numbers and refresh numbers


Address and resolve complaints by field personnel
