Product Marketing Mgr. – Analytic & Chromatographic Instruments

The Product Marketing Manager will manage a market driven product group by developing product marketing business plans to support the company’s strategic plan and will develop, administer and oversee all aspects of the product line from concept to service.

Job Responsibilities:

Business Planning and Management:

  1. Develop marketing plans by preparing objectives, strategies, tactics, and profit and loss projections, including short and long term strategies and by evaluating competitors’ products, determining market share and market trends in order to maintain competitive comparisons and evaluations.
  2. Act as a liaison to various company departments to coordinate and insure the successful launch of new products through planning, promoting and introduction.
  3. Prepare marketing perspectives and annual budgets.

Promotion and Sales:

  1. Direct promotion and marketing of the product line by determining requirements, proposing themes, enumerating features-benefits for literature, ads, manuals data sheets, direct mail pitch book, sales aids, exhibits, specialty shows and field sales calls, etc.
  2. Prepare training materials, and conduct training sessions for representatives and dealers.
  3. Preparation and presentation for end-user seminars.

Product Control:

  1. Assure timely and effective product development by proposing new products, modifications, and accessories, and monitor product development progress through various company departments in order to curtail delay and correct any in process snafus.
  2. Interview customers to determine satisfaction, identify new application requirements, etc. Monitor Manufacturing and Quality Assurance to prevent product deficiencies.
  3. Review product instruction manuals in order to assure their accuracy, completeness and suitability.
  4. Plan product obsolescence based on careful analysis.

Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physiology or Engineering, or the equivalent education and experience. Masters degree, MBA or the like preferred.
  2. 3 – 5 year’s industrial business experience in product management, or design and development; or, business curriculum.
