Project Executive – Commercial (High-End Restaurants/ Retail)

We are currently seeking a Project Executive for our High-End Restaurants, Retail, and hotel projects. The role of the Project Executive is to perform construction project management on single or multiple projects through team-based approach, involving field and office personnel. Project Executive is fully responsible and accountable for the outcome of projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and their team;
  • Direct and manage projects from job start-up through closeout;
  • Identify and implement cost and time saving measures;
  • Purchase all phases of work with qualified vendors within the project budget;
  • Attend and lead weekly client meetings;
  • Implement project management tools in a timely manner (RFI, Submittals, Change Orders, Bulletins, Schedules, Cost Reports, etc.);
  • Prepare and update master project schedule on a monthly basis or as needed;
  • Monitor subcontractor’s performance in compliance with contract documents;
  • Obtain, qualify, and challenge pricing of cost issues prior to Owner submission;
  • Expedite change order process with subcontractors and Owner;
  • Forecast effectively in project cost reports;
  • Review and authorize payment for subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices;
  • Establish and manage timely pay application to Owner;
  • Be proactive, fair, equitable, and consistent in conflict resolution;
  • Document timely, potential issues affecting the budget and schedule;
  • Provide regular project status updates and communicate daily to supervisor;
  • Participate in sales presentation with Business Development;
  • Instill a winning communication style – “Get it done” Attitude;
  • Promote and motivate working relationships to be productive;
  • Other duties and special projects as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Construction Management, Building Construction, Architecture or Civil Engineering), and 15 years of position related experience;
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of processes and procedures and resolution of standard and non-standard issues;
  • Knowledgeable of subcontracted trade activities, means and methods;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Advanced written and oral communications skills to present information in a concise and articulate manner;
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to coordinate work on multiple facets of a project;
  • Proficient computer skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Microsoft Project on an advanced basis;
  • This position will require travel to the job site and other locations. A valid California driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required;

PHYSICAL  REQUIREMENTS:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Good vision and dexterity. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
