Project Manager – Underground Dry Utilities

Candidate will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of all projects assigned. Provide direction and guidance to Superintendents, field foreman, and project engineers on all projects. Oversee the execution and completion of all assigned projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Making decisions both small and large, in such a way that risk is controlled and uncertainty minimized.
  • Responsible for all assigned projects to ensure budget, schedules, materials, sub-contractors and crews are on target and profitable.
  • Monitors overall quantity and quality of work performed on all assigned jobs.
  • Review and approval of all expenses for each assigned job; ensure they are applied to the proper job and phase code.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the billing department as needed; e.g. provides schedule of values, answer questions on applied costs or billing requirements per the contract.
  • Oversee process for changes orders and other circumstances changing the scope of work and payment for such changes.
  • Monitor contract compliance for each job to ensure the company is protected regarding liabilities matters and liens (collection matters).
  • Serve as senior technical advisor on projects.
  • Participate in resolving difficult issues or start-up problems.
  • Authorize/approve all personnel transactions (hiring, transfers, wages, etc.).
  • Resolve labor disputes and related negotiations as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Implements safety programs as directed by the Safety Department.
  • Development of craft and supervision training programs.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all company safety program requirements.
  • Promote safety among peers, subordinates and supervisors

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 4 Year degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
  • Must have a valid class C California driver’s license
  • 3+ years underground project management experience
