Sales Manager

Job Description:

  • Achieve the business units budgeted sales quota for the year
  • Management of Canada, US, Central and South America, PI sales channel
  • Management of all area sales managers

Responsibilities:

Develop sales quotas for each sales office of the channel

  1. Take necessary action to insure all sales offices are selling all product types.
  2. Participate as needed in our marketing activities to enhance sales for the business unit.
  3. Maintain all appropriate data bases required by the business.
  4. Generate a monthly report/forecast for the sales department.
  5. Submit a weekly report on progress against monthly forecast.
  6. Communicate with the credit department for new customer accounts.
  7. Insure the sales department procedures are always ISO9001 compliant.
  8. Manage all details associated with sales training activities for the channel.
  9. Provide technical and commercial support to our international offices when needed.
  10. Interface and support our international offices as we would with our best representative.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.

Education & Experience:

  • BS in Engineering, Science, Business or Marketing with analytical or science studies or equivalent industry experience plus some training in chemistry and analytical instrumentation.
  • Ten years or more in technical sales of instrumentation into industrial markets.
  • Two to five years in sales management as regional or district sales manager.

Skills

  • Technical knowledge of process analyzers and applications.
  • Commercial contract review experience.
  • International business experience working with engineering, procurement and construction firms in addition to systems integrators in Americas, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Pac Rim.
  • Must be available for extensive overnight travel, including South America and Mexico.

*Additional skills required include: good writing and verbal communication skills, ability to motivate and direct sales personnel, good time management skills, good people skills with customers, representatives and employees, capable of using computers for word processing and spreadsheets.
