Sr. Business Developer

A world leader in transportation security is looking for a Program Developer for its MD location.

Job Description

Utilizing proven experience in sales and marketing within a disciplined sales environment and a bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering or science, the Program Developer will assume responsibility for marketing the complete range of the company’s CBRNE and security equipment, including chemical and biological warfare, explosives and drug detectors, x-ray systems, security equipment, and integrated vehicle systems. The incumbent will also fulfill sales and marketing functions in the following areas: JPEO and other detection communities, Department of Defense-Joint PEO for Chem/Bio Defense, Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization and Service organizations. Duties include all aspects of the sales and marketing process, including, but not limited to, defining potential customers, contributing to the new product development process, providing product demonstrations, attending trade exhibitions/conferences, managing and contributing to major and minor proposals, owning marketing strategy and making and meeting a sales forecasts.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to meeting the Business Development and company location Business Unit sales and bookings targets set according to budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist and manage bid and proposal preparation.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with key customers.
  • Understand the DoD and other customers’ acquisition strategies and procurement processes.
  • Develop and execute company strategies and capture plans to respond to targeted major procurements.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and long-term business predictions for each project/customer.
  • Work with the Product Manager on short-term orders in an assigned business area.
  • Assist Marketing in organizing, planning and representing the company at exhibitions and meetings.
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations and lead showroom tours.
  • Arrange customer visits to company sites.
  • Provide customer requirements to the Product and Program Managers, helping them define projects and modify products.
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with company health, safety and environmental policies, as well as all applicable U.S. export and security regulations

Requirements

  • 5+ years related experience, including experience marketing the DoD and related agencies.
  • Ability to operate alone in a variety of markets (including some international) and willingness to ask for assistance and specialist advice when situations demand.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
  • Must be US Citizens or be a Green Card holder.
