Sr. Regional Sales Engineer

Responsible for sales engineering activities, within assigned region for all Lines of Business (LOB’s). Currently the new LOBs are: Water Quality, Network Asset Management and Non-Revenue Water. Works within the Regional Sales Group as a support team member to ensure customer satisfaction, revenue generation and EBITDA within our vision and values.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the sales engineering and technical support of all LOB new products and services within his/her region
  • Train and develop sales reps within region for sales of new products for each LOB
  • Work with each of the sales reps within the region to assist in closing deals
  • Work with each LOB team to develop new product and service for sales in region and in understanding new products and services
  • Build relationships with engineering firms within region to get products specified within project bids
  • Identify needs and technical issues with the customers in order to help LOBs to improve existing or developing new solutions
  • Identify competitors and benchmark their offerings in order to develop practices to be more competitive against identified competitors in region
  • Demonstrates technical sales engineering skills and product knowledge
  • Develops annual sales business plan in conjunction with Regional Sales Director to meet or exceed sales quota
  • Demonstrates the ability to hold a technical business conversation with proper decision makers
  • Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale to maximize market share
  • Helps sales force to sell consultatively and makes recommendations to prospective clients of the various solutions the company offers to solve their business issues
  • Helps sales force develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, so that sales force can conduct telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail, networking with the engineering firms, and working with the water system consultants in the field.
  • Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed
  • Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses appropriately addressing client needs
  • Responsible for developing client relationships and referrals
  • Responsible for building an effective reputation with the industry
  • Demonstrates the ability to gather, submit detailed business information, pricing and presentation of solutions to clients
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics at all times
  • Participates and contributes to the development of educational programs offered to clients, prospects and company employees

  • Minimum educational requirement for consideration is a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Electrical Engineering)
  • Successful sales engineering or engineering experience preferably in the potable water quality industry or something related.
