Sr. Project Manager

One of the largest contract furniture dealers in the Chicago area is looking for a Sr. Project Manager.

Job Overview:

The Sr. Project Manager shall work collaboratively with all sales, account coordination, design, accounting, installation, and warehouse personnel to ensure complete and accurate information and total customer satisfaction. The company PM is also responsible for maintaining positive and productive relationships with all departments, customers, suppliers, vendors, and contractors.

The Project Manager shall also successfully achieve quality, cost, and schedule parameters of all assigned projects while providing accurate and timely communication to all participants.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Represents Sr. Project Management Team as member of company in proposal presentations to clients when required.
  • Develops and/or maintain project budgets which include a combination of product and services (Design, Project Management, Delivery, Installation)
  • Maintains Project Management activity log to account for hours spent on billable and non-billable projects in order to establish or maintain project budgets;
  • Represents company at construction meetings.
  • Initiates interaction with sub-contractors on project.
  • Completes field work such as measurement verification and execution of final walk-through.
  • Read installation drawings and construction documents.
  • Set up project, beginning with contact through the sales representative or account manager.
  • Create and maintain project binders to include all pertinent project information.
  • Perform specification audit and comparison with order.
  • Product delivery scheduling and tracking.
  • Prepare tentative paperwork and schedule installations.
  • Follow through with all aspects of the project to completion.
  • Accomplish all tasks appropriately assigned or requested.
  • Mentor junior personnel as needed.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • 7+ Years minimum experience
  • Basic Space Planning knowledge and building code requirements
  • Basic knowledge of major contract furniture product lines, installations, applications and labor pricing
  • Organizational Skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Computer Literate – Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher).
  • Team Player
