Vice President – Water Quality

Responsibilities:

  • Provide management, direction, and leadership to the Engineering department. This position interfaces with all areas of the organization to execute both Customer Projects and internal Product Development efforts. Serve as a member of the executive team helping to set the company’s strategic direction.
  • Overall responsibility and accountability for engineering and project management with emphasis on ensuring delivery of the best possible technical & cost solutions for all projects
  • Direct and coordinate activities of Engineering Department to develop the company’s R&D concepts and inventions into workable prototypes and consumer products
  • Confer with engineers about product integrity of new designed and manufactured products on market for continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the product cycle from prototype and product development to final customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with the customer to develop prototypes or final products based on customer requirements
  • Participate with senior management in the strategic business processes, contributing an engineering management viewpoint to develop and carry-out market strategies and resource allocations.
  • Supervise recruitment, training, retention, mentoring and organization of all Engineering, Product Development and QA staff in accordance with the company’s hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements, assuring that state of the art skills and core competencies are maintained in areas critical to the maintenance of sustainable competitive advantages in all product areas
  • Establish product development program objectives and execute to those in terms of performance, schedule and budget.
  • Contribute expertise in new product design and participates “hands-on” in design and development challenging projects.
  • Works closely with Research and Development in development of effective engineering-manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Confer with management, production, product integrity and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and time to market for new and existing products.
  • Coordinates activities with sales, marketing and R&D operations.
  • Maintain the high standards for quality and workmanship of the designs required by customers of the business.

Excellent Salary and Benefits

  • M. S. Degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline preferred (Environmental Engineering , Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science degree preferred) or equivalent combination of degree and experience.
  • 10+ years minimum overall engineering design/ management experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong self-directed individual with personal commitment to excellence and ability to inspire others.
  • Experience in the water, wastewater or utility field preferred.
  • Acquianted with CAD (3-D preferred)
  • Proven track record with major projects from design (engineering) to productions (manufacturing) and beyond in a regulated environment, with a clear understanding and respect of the synergy needed between engineering and manufacturing.
  • Technical knowledge in engine design and technical depth sufficient to allow prioritization of efforts and allocations of resources.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Project Management systems and techniques including Baselines, Work Breakdown Structures, Forecasting, and Reporting is desired
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical drafting and documentation.
  • Excellent leadership skills, strong in communications: verbal, listening, writing, and team building
