VP of International Sales / Construction

Job Description:

The Vice President of International Sales is responsible for identifying, developing and establishing new international opportunities that involve electrical construction, design, products and related services with a primary focus on the Asian-Pacific region. The VP is responsible for bringing valid project opportunities to the company’s project groups. The VP shall strategically and successfully lead the sales process of each opportunity that is selected by a project group for bidding or presentation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify, develop and maintain customer relationships with prospective customers: owners, architects, engineers, developers and general contractors.
  • Lead the process of identifying and developing electrical construction opportunities that meet the company’s minimum standards.
  • Present opportunities to the company project groups and ensure the delivery of accurate project information and documents.
  • Oversee the tracking of all projects that are designated for bidding or presentation and the updating of project information.
  • Ensure that a sponsoring project group is engaged in the sales and bidding process, and that strong communication with internal parties and with external customers is maintained throughout the bid phase of each project.
  • Strengthen and improve customer relationships, track progress and activity on a monthly basis. Utilize the company’s entertainment resources appropriately to maintain current relationships and develop new relationships.
  • Attend industry association meetings in order to network with the existing company customer base and develop new relationships with other industry professionals.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s business objectives so the concept of “Why Our Company” can be effectively demonstrated to external customers.
  • Participate in company sales functions.

  • 4 year degree required.
  • The successful candidate shall be an energetic, effective, self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills who is able to excel in an international sales environment.
  • Experience with construction project work in China/Asia market preferred. Fluency in Mandarin or related language a major plus.
  • 7+ yrs construction industry and 5+ years international experience with an emphasis on international business development required. Electrical contracting and design experience are highly preferred.
  • Must be technologically advanced and oriented.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e.: Word, Excel, and Internet).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and a thorough knowledge various international cultures.
  • Customer service oriented and organized.
  • The proven ability to hire, build, and lead successful sales teams.
  • The successful candidate shall be intellectual and have a willingness to learn, tenacity, strong organizational skills and excellent work habits.
